A precise diagnosis is essential for targeted further treatment. In trauma surgery and orthopedics, imaging plays a crucial role. With a digital X-ray system, a 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner, an ultrasound device, and a mobile C-arm (X-ray/fluoroscopy), the Sportklinik Arlberg is optimally equipped for the evaluation and treatment of injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. Short distances, no long waiting times, and precise imaging are our key advantages.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan provides highly detailed insights into the human body. It allows precise visualization of joints and all their structures (ligaments, menisci, tendons, cartilage, fluid, joint capsule, bone), soft tissues and internal organs, the spine, and the head including its blood vessels. MRI is a radiation-free examination.
The MRI system at the Sportklinik Arlberg is a 1.5-Tesla scanner, ideally suited for the assessment of joints, soft tissues and organs, the spine, and the head including its vessels. The scanner is located in a bright, light-filled room with large windows, creating a pleasant and calming atmosphere.
If you suffer from claustrophobia, we are will assist you to ensure that the necessary examination can still be carried out comfortably.
Digital X-ray
X-ray imaging is the fundamental diagnostic tool for assessing the musculoskeletal system. It enables the targeted evaluation of fractures, joint dislocations, and degenerative changes. Modern systems significantly reduce radiation exposure. At the Sportklinik Arlberg, our fully digital X-ray system allows us to produce high-resolution images. Our X-ray room is spacious, bright, and welcoming, ensuring that you feel comfortable and well cared for throughout the examination.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a gentle, rapid, radiation-free, and resource-efficient diagnostic method. It allows the assessment of injuries and changes in soft tissues such as tendons, ligaments, muscles, hematomas, joints, and blood vessels. In children, skeletal injuries can also be diagnosed quickly and without radiation exposure (e.g., growth plate injuries, hairline fractures). Thanks to the possibility of dynamic imaging, movements can be examined in real time, enabling exceptionally precise diagnostics.
C-arm
The C-arm is a mobile X-ray/fluoroscopy device used for diagnosing fractures and supporting fracture treatment. It enables image-guided diagnostics directly during procedures or surgery. This allows precise control and optimal placement of osteosynthesis materials, as well as accurate alignment of fractures. In addition, injections or infiltrations can be performed with high precision under X-ray guidance.
